Have The Best Ramadan Yet!
Fasting often leaves us feeling hungry, thirsty and exhausted, with energy levels dipping we find it hard to focus. Especially in the current situation where kids are off school and most of us working from home, managing our time and energy efficiently to maximise the “Baraka” of this month is quite an ordeal.
Here are some tips to overcome the challenges and to have The Best Ramadan Yet:
- Fasting is a Blessing: By fasting we are inviting “Baraka” in all aspects of our life by the will of Allah (SWT). Thank Allah for another Ramadan in our lives and the ability to fast and gain closeness to Him (Insha’Allah)
- Manage Energy: The two main physical challenges of Ramadan are Sleep and Nutrition, the lack of them can make us feel exhausted. Sleep deprivation will lead to exhaustion. Setting our sleep wake cycles right will ensure we get enough sleep as it has a direct impact on our energy levels. Some foods bog us down while others provide us required nutrition and help keep our energy levels up. Choose wisely, eat lots of slow- burning foods for Suhoor and balanced healthy meals for Iftar.
- Manage Time: Make a routine, remember to include all tasks from the to do list, and manage time effectively. Early birds, prioritise the tasks that require more focus after Suhoor. Night owls, can do them after Isha/Taraweeh. Have a plan in place and stick to it! Insha’Allah
Treat Ramadan as a training ground for the rest of the 11 months, take this opportunity to replace any bad habits to ones that please Allah (SWT)
Hope you Have the Best Ramadan Yet!
