Was it a Ramadan of change?

As I cooked, decorated and celebrated Eid. A question kept popping up in my mind again and again. Did I have a successful Ramadan? Ramadan has come and gone, leaving us feeling empty and hoping we get to experience the next Ramadan. Insha’Allah!

Ramadan was like a boot camp for our soul. We gave up the lawful food and drink, refrained from committing sins and engaged ourselves in Ibadah to gain closeness to Allah. Now we have graduated with a celebration. EID!

The success of our Ramadan is not completely determined by how we faired during this month but rather how we fair after the month of mercy has left us. The training is over. Shaitaan is on the loose!  The real test begins now! Will we combat the Shaiyaan and continue in the obedience of Allah? OR Will we return to our old bad habits?

The Messenger (PBUH) said, “Take up good deeds only as much as you are able, for the best deeds are those done regularly even if they are few.” (Sunan Ibn Majah)

Allah (SWT) loves good deeds which are done consistently.

What changes are you going to make which will last a lifetime?
